In my late teens, I fell into the trap of Facetune, trying to fit into a version of beauty that never quite felt like mine. Eventually, as an act of rebellion, I started stretching my features, turning myself into monsters, aliens, anything but “perfect.” The more unreal I made myself look, the more human I felt. By exaggerating and distorting my features, I began to appreciate my real reflection. This latest photoshoot is a return to that space, a return to a past version of myself that helped me feel free. Like picking up a childhood toy with new hands, it reminded me how playful and healing it can be to unlearn beauty and make room for something stranger, truer.

This series, like most of my past work, is about the quiet magic of just hanging out with friends, when nothing’s staged but everything feels cinematic. It’s about being present, but also alert. There’s no pressure, no performance, just the natural rhythm of people being themselves, and the camera following along like a friend with good timing. It’s about everyday beauty, the kind you don’t plan, but don’t forget either.
